At Specsavers, we're dedicated to making eye and hearing care accessible to all. As pioneers and a global leader in innovative technologies, we help people optimise their vision and hearing. We foster your expertise, welcome you into a supportive family, and grow your skills. Grounded in our collaboration, curiosity, courage, and compassion values, we strive to challenge the status quo and invite you to team up with us.
You’ll join an agile team that values collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. This is a 12‑month role covering a parental leave, giving you a unique opportunity to step into a central learning design position and make a real impact from day one. If you’re curious by nature, passionate about learning design, and excited about using technology to elevate learning — this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
Your role
Within our Learning & Development team we work to empower our store colleagues to deliver exceptional customer care. As our new Learning Content Designer, you’ll play a key role in creating simple, engaging, and effective learning experiences that support store teams across Northern Europe.
In this role, you will:
-
Design online learning content that is practical, relevant, and easy to use in a store environment.
-
Work in an agile setup, collaborating closely with the NE L&D team, Country L&D teams, Comms, Retail, Marketing, IT, and other functions.
-
Be part of small regional project groups to build new learning materials.
-
Maintain and improve our core learning offer to stores.
-
Create visually engaging learning assets aligned with our brand and learning standards.
-
Support Virtual Classroom content production and help evolve the experience using new ideas and technologies.
-
Ensure everything we create is clear, engaging, and on‑brand.
Your qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of creativity, structure, and a genuine curiosity for how people learn. You might come from an education within communications, psychology, instructional design, or something entirely different — what matters most is your ability to understand learners, simplify complexity, and work well with people across the business.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
-
Have up to three years of experience working with learning or content creation.
-
Are comfortable designing digital learning, ideally using Articulate Rise / Articulate 360.
-
Are technically curious and excited about exploring AI‑powered tools like Synthesia.
-
Can translate complex topics into simple, user‑friendly learning experiences.
-
Manage stakeholders with confidence and enjoy collaborating in a matrix organisation.
-
Bring a “try, test, learn” mindset and feel energised by change and agility.
We’ll run the recruitment process throughout February and March, and we expect for the start date to be 1 May.
