Head of Retail Operations

Date: 21 Oct 2025

Location: Nordhavn, DK, 2150

Company: Specsavers

Ready to shape the future of retail operations across Northern Europe?

At Specsavers, we're dedicated to making eye and hearing care accessible to all. As pioneers and a global leader in innovative technologies, we help people optimise their vision and hearing. We foster your expertise, welcome you into a supportive family, and propel your growth. Grounded in our collaboration, curiosity, courage, and compassion values, we strive to challenge the status quo and invite you to team up with us.

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of Retail Operations to join our Central Operations team in Northern Europe. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact function that supports stores across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands — driving consistency, efficiency, and innovation at scale.

Your role

As Head of Retail Operations, you’ll lead a small, experienced team and work closely with country teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our stores are set up for success.

From digitising store processes to embedding our Blended Experience programme, you’ll be at the heart of transforming how we operate — always with our partners and customers in mind.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Championing consistent, scalable, and efficient store operations initiatives across five markets.

  • Lead central Retail Operations and enable local country teams with best-in-class tools, frameworks, and support.

  • Drive operational excellence, digitisation, and the blended experience program to make life simpler for partners and colleagues while improving the customer journey.

  • Own the agenda for central RRM/ARM initiatives, that enable their development, drive regional efficiencies, support across country networking and learning, and co-create regional tools and best practices together with the Store Operations teams.

  • Ensuring store and operational readiness for new initiatives, including advising other functions on landing initiatives in stores, and owning the development and use of the Customer Journey maps

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Retail Ops team, while supporting the growth of Field Support teams across markets.

  • Act as the voice of store operations in cross-functional projects, ensuring new initiatives land smoothly and deliver real impact in store.

  • Turning strategic priorities into practical outcomes through collaboration

This is a permanent, full-time role based in our Northern Europe Support Office in Copenhagen, with travel across the region as needed.

Your new team

You’ll be part of the Central Operations team in Northern Europe, reporting to the Director of Central Operations. You’ll collaborate with country Heads of Store Operations, Directors of Stores, and functional leaders across the region — as well as external suppliers and partners.

We’re a collaborative, improvement-focused team that values clear communication, operational excellence, and enabling others to succeed.

  • Join our global team of friendly, talented, and passionate colleagues. Enjoy a competitive salary package with perks such as pensions, (health insurance), free eye care vouchers, and more.

  • Grow in your role with free access to online learning, regular discussions with your manager, personalised development plans, and increased responsibility.

  • We offer a fun work environment with great coffee, laughter, table tennis tournaments, birthday surprises, holiday celebrations, virtual Friday quizzes, and more.

Your qualifications

You’re a calm, inquisitive, and engaging leader with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for retail excellence. You bring a strategic perspective, but you’re also hands-on and pragmatic when it comes to getting things done.

We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of leadership, operational insight, and a values-driven mindset. If several of the points below resonate with you, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to develop teams and inspire cross-functional collaboration

  • A proven track record of simplifying and optimising operations in a complex, multi-market organisation

  • An eye for innovation — whether through digitisation, automation, or new customer experiences

  • The ability to balance big-picture strategy with operational detail

  • A strategic mindset with a focus on execution and delivering results

  • A passion for enabling others to succeed and making a difference for customers and partners

  • Proven ability to lead change and influence stakeholders at all levels

Your development

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Be onboarded into the Central Operations team and introduced to key stakeholders and processes

  • Start contributing to regional operations initiatives and cross-functional projects

Within 6–12 months, you’ll:

  • Lead strategic programmes and support country teams with operational frameworks

  • Be a go-to person for retail operations across Northern Europe

  • Help shape the future of store support and customer experience

Further development:

  • You’ll have a personalised development plan focused on growing your leadership and strategic capabilities

  • You’ll be supported to explore career paths within Specsavers — whether toward broader regional leadership or global operations

  • You’ll grow professionally in an organisation that values your initiative, collaboration, and impact
