To strengthen our Northern Europe Trading team, we're searching for a Head of PR & Corporate Communication to spearhead our communication strategies and public relations efforts across Northern Europe.
Your role
As Head of PR & Corporate Communication, you will play a key role in leading the development of the overall Public Relations and Corporate Communication strategy, as well as individual campaign strategies for both Optics and Audiology. These strategies will align with the broader Northern Europe business plan, and you will also contribute to shaping this plan as a member of the Trading Leadership team.
Specsavers, known as Louis Nielsen in Denmark, has a well-established reputation in public and corporate communication. In this role, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to build on that legacy and elevate the regional PR strategy to new heights.
Collaboration will be central to your success as you work closely with Trading Leadership, Northern European Board (NEB) members, Marketing, Product, Communication teams, and Country PR teams.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities include:

Take responsibility for our PR and Corporate Communication strategy, developing an improved perception of Specsavers within the Optical and Audiology industries in line with our employer brand.

Lead the Northern Europe PR and Corporate Communication team.

Manage the budget for PR and Corporate Communication spend in the region.

Review and monitor PR and corporate communication activities in each market to assess trends, return on investment, and highlight potential growth opportunities for the brand.

As a leader of one of the customer-facing functions, drive the growth of the brand’s reputation and perception in the eyes of consumers, particularly focusing on areas of professionalism and expertise.

Work closely and cross-functionally with other customer-facing function leaders to develop robust and cohesive plans to accelerate the brand, ensuring regional strategies with relevant local execution.

Monitor and analyze the impact of our PR and Corporate Communications activities consistently across markets to ensure a dominant and favorable share of voice.
In this role, there will be occasional travel to each of the markets, making sure to stay close and connected to the different countries and support the local teams. This is expected to be 1-2 times per year.
Your new team
As Regional Head of PR & Corporate Communication, you'll report directly to the Northern Europe Trading Director and become an integral part of the team. The Trading them is overall responsible for the trading performance for the region and work in close collaboration with the local country teams.
You'll work at our Northern Europe support office in Nordhavn. Our office features many collaborative spaces and a stunning rooftop terrace with breathtaking city and harbour views.

Your qualifications
We're seeking a highly experienced professional with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of change management.
To excel in this role at Specsavers, you should meet the following requirements:

Degree in Public Relations, Public Affairs, Corporate Communication, Marketing, or a related field.

Proven track record in communication and PR across multiple markets and within a matrix organization.

Demonstrated ability in leadership and people management.

Self-starter who is highly organized, with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
-
Well-developed and effective communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging deadlines without compromising on detail.

Quick to adapt to change, flexible, and understands the dynamics of change.

Strong skills in managing and engaging stakeholders.
Your development
Within 3 months, you’ll:

Be onboarded and done your induction, meeting all your stakeholders and worked in store

Gain understanding of the company and the industry of optics and audiology

Support/work on developing the structure and plans for the team.
Within 6-12 months, you:

Run the PR & Corporate Communication team

Will understand the dynamics within the company and ways of working

Can be the go-to-person for PR and Corporate Communication regionally.

Deliver strategy and strong plans for the function, region and countries
