The role & team

 

We have an opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Due to the nature of the role and contract term, we are seeking a candidate with strong hands-on financial accounting experience who can quickly build relationships, adapt to the environment, and contribute from the outset.

Reporting to the Regional Financial Accounting Manager, you will partner with stakeholders across the business and take ownership of monthly and annual financial reporting for a portfolio of shared venture stores across Australia and New Zealand.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Complete timely and accurate bank reconciliations across multiple store accounts.
  • Liaise with store partners and stakeholders to support financial analysis and store performance reporting.
  • Contribute to process efficiencies and maintain strong financial controls in a fast-paced environment.

 

At Specsavers, we embrace a hybrid approach to working. When not working remotely, this role will be based at our Port Melbourne Support Office.

 

The skills we are looking for

  • Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role, with the ability to confidently manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work collaboratively within a high-performing team.
