The role

Reporting to the Global Head of Data Governance, the Data Governance Lead – ANZ will drive the implementation and adoption of Specsavers’ Data Governance Framework across the region. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, security and effective management of data assets, while partnering with stakeholders across the business to embed best-practice governance and support compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

Working closely with global data governance leaders and the Global Head of Centre of Excellence, you will adapt and implement the global framework for ANZ, contribute to the ongoing development of governance standards, and ensure alignment with Specsavers’ Technology Strategy. You will also support the evolution of the enterprise data catalogue, including data ownership, classification, lineage, business glossaries and data dictionaries, while driving initiatives that improve data quality, consistency and reliability.

 

As a trusted partner to technology, security, legal, privacy and business teams, you will champion strong data stewardship practices, support governance audits and compliance activities, deliver governance education and training, and provide reporting and insights that measure the effectiveness of data governance across the organisation.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Extensive hands-on experience in data governance, data management, or a related discipline, with experience leading and developing small teams.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices, with hands-on experience using data management tools such as data cataloguing and data quality solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships and communicate confidently across all levels of the business.
  • Professional certification in data governance or data management (e.g. CDMP, DGSP), or strong knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and best practices, is highly desirable.
