If you’re an experienced multi-skilled engineer who enjoys getting to the root of complex problems and making machinery perform at its best, this is an opportunity to make a real impact at Specsavers. You’ll help keep our manufacturing operation running safely and reliably, working with complex production equipment and playing a key role in improving performance, reducing downtime and supporting future production capacity.

You’ll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance across CNC machinery, automated production equipment and other high-value manufacturing assets. From diagnosing challenging mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults to installing, modifying and commissioning equipment, you’ll see engineering issues through from diagnosis to a lasting solution. You’ll also work closely with OEMs, contractors and colleagues on machinery upgrades and improvement projects, using maintenance data and root-cause analysis to improve reliability, safety, efficiency and equipment availability.

You’ll bring a Level 3 or above qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, alongside significant hands-on experience in a manufacturing or similar engineering environment. You’ll need strong mechanical, electrical and pneumatic fault-finding skills, proven experience with CNC and automated machinery, and a recognised electrical qualification or be working towards one. You’ll be confident interpreting technical drawings and schematics, comfortable making sound decisions under pressure and able to work independently while building strong relationships with the people around you. Above all, you’ll bring a practical, curious approach to solving problems and preventing them from happening again.

At Specsavers, you’ll have the opportunity to use your technical expertise in a role with genuine variety, responsibility and scope to keep developing. You’ll be part of an inclusive engineering environment where knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and high standards of safety really matter. If you’re ready to take ownership of complex engineering challenges and help shape a safer, more reliable and efficient manufacturing operation, we’d love to hear from you.
