Engineer

Date: 14 Apr 2026

Location: Kidderminster, ENG, GB, DY11 7PT

Company: Specsavers

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance and Facilities team, w0rking across our Kidderminster sites including Vision Labs, International Glazing Services and Lens Online. This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their workmanship, and understands the value of teamwork in keeping complex operations running smoothly.

You’ll be a trusted presence on site, collaborating closely with Shift Leaders, Team Leaders and colleagues across all departments. Clear, open communication will be part of everyday life, whether you’re sharing updates during shift stand ups, flagging risks early, or supporting teammates when workloads peak. A calm, practical approach and a willingness to muck in will be key.

Your role will centre on responding quickly to breakdowns, maintaining and repairing specialist lens coating and processing equipment, and delivering planned preventative maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum. While working on machinery, you’ll assess condition, identify emerging issues and record actions accurately using our CMMS system. Safety and standards matter here, so you’ll ensure equipment is returned to safe working order, guarding is in place, and work areas are left clean and organised.

You’ll bring solid electrical and mechanical experience, confidence working with PLCs, AC/DC drives, pneumatics and basic hydraulics, and the ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics. Just as importantly, you’ll be comfortable working on your own initiative, prioritising effectively, and applying logical problem solving skills under pressure.

In return, you’ll join a supportive, well established engineering team with opportunities for structured training, including UK and European travel. If you enjoy being trusted to do a proper job and being part of a team that values reliability, collaboration and continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.

Working hours: 37.5 hours Monday - Friday. 6am – 2pm & 2pm – 10pm (rotates each week)
