Head of Finance

As our new Head of Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial performance of Specsavers Netherlands, partnering with leaders across the business to drive growth, improve profitability and support strategic decision-making. As a key member of the Country Management Team, you'll help translate financial insight into meaningful business outcomes for our stores, partners and support office. 

The team you’ll join

You'll join the Netherlands Finance & Country Management Team, reporting to the Northern Europe Finance Director with a dotted reporting line to the Country Manager. You'll be part of a highly qualified Northern Europe Finance team and lead the Netherlands Country Finance team, including three direct reports.

In addition, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues across Northern Europe, Group Finance, UK accounting support teams and stakeholders throughout the Dutch business. 

This role sits at the heart of the organisation, partnering with both operational and commercial stakeholders to ensure strong financial performance, robust governance and informed decision-making. You'll work closely with store partners, regional finance colleagues and senior leaders to support the continued success of Specsavers in the Netherlands.

How you’ll make impact

As our Head of Finance, you'll lead all finance activities across the Netherlands, ensuring strong financial control while providing the insight and challenge needed to support business growth and performance. You'll act as a trusted advisor to the Country Management Team, helping to guide strategic decisions and strengthen financial and commercial capability across the organisation.

In this role, you'll:

• Lead and oversee all financial accounting, reporting, control and compliance activities for Specsavers Netherlands.
• Ensure robust financial processes, internal controls and risk management frameworks that support high-quality financial operations.  
• Provide commercial insight, challenge and decision support to help improve business performance and profitability.
• Partner with store owners, senior leaders and finance colleagues to drive fact-based decision-making and sustainable growth.
• Lead, coach and develop the Country Finance team, creating an environment where people can perform and grow.
• Sponsor and contribute to strategic projects, business planning activities and the implementation of new systems and ways of working. 

You'll report to the Northern Europe Finance Director and work closely with the Country Manager and Country Management Team. Some travel within Northern Europe, the UK and Guernsey should be expected.

What you’ll bring

We're looking for a commercially minded finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive business performance.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• A professional accounting qualification and substantial experience in senior finance leadership roles.
• A strong commercial mindset and the ability to turn financial data into meaningful business insight and decisions.
• Experience leading finance teams and influencing stakeholders in a complex, matrix environment.
• The confidence to challenge constructively, build strong partnerships and drive business performance.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.  
• Experience within retail, franchise or other consumer-facing businesses is considered an advantage.
