Date: 26 Oct 2026

Location: Fareham, ENG, GB, PO15 7PA

Company: Specsavers

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Specsavers at the heart of our Tax function, where you'll play a key role in helping us deliver on our purpose of changing lives through better sight and hearing. As a Senior Tax Business Partner, you'll be a trusted adviser to the business – not only Finance – making sure Tax is involved where it’s needed and relied on for accurate, efficient advice. You’ll also be the trusted controller of our tax compliance processes, ensuring our UK and Ireland legislative requirements are met accurately and on time. Combining technical expertise with commercial insight, you'll help ensure tax is seen as a valued partner while contributing to the continued success and growth of our UK and Ireland businesses.

In this highly visible role, you'll lead, coach and develop a team of Tax Compliance Analysts, building a high-performing team with strong commercial and analytical capability. You’ll act as the senior business partner to the rest of the Tax team, providing insight, challenge and recommendations that support strategic decision-making, and you’ll build strong relationships across the business so that tax opportunities and risks are understood. You’ll maintain and provide the initial approval on all UK and Irish Corporate Tax returns and the associated analytics and payments.  We have a significant compliance requirement so it is essential you are able to get involved in meeting our deliverables for compliance function, including VAT and Corporation Tax returns.  From driving continuous improvement and analytical capability as our volumes grow, to leading projects, advising our partners on business taxes and presenting budget and legislative developments to our Tax team, Finance teams and store partners, you'll help keep our tax processes robust, reliable and fit for the future.

To succeed, you'll be a qualified tax professional (ATT or CTA) with post-qualified experience, a deep understanding of VAT and Corporation Tax returns, and a proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decisions. You'll bring strong commercial acumen, with examples of adding value in a demanding environment, and excellent analytical skills that turn complex information into compelling, actionable insight. Proactive and forward-looking, you'll manage multiple competing priorities, respond quickly to business needs and tailor complex tax messages for senior and non-tax audiences. Strong systems and data analysis skills, including advanced Excel and a willingness to learn new systems, together with examples of how you’ve demonstrated Specsavers’ values and behaviours, will help you make an immediate impact.

At Specsavers, you'll find a supportive and collaborative culture where your expertise is valued, your ideas are encouraged and your development matters. You'll have the opportunity to influence meaningful business decisions, work with experienced professionals and contribute to a purpose-led organisation that continues to grow and evolve.
