Senior Data Business Analyst

Are you passionate about turning complex data into insight that drives real business change? At Specsavers, we’re looking for a Senior Data Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping how data is understood, designed, and delivered across some of our most important transformation initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the intersection of business, data, and technology. As a Senior Data Business Analyst, you’ll lead data-focused analysis across complex programmes, working closely with Data Product Managers, Data Engineers, Architects, and Delivery Leads to ensure data solutions are well-defined, scalable, and truly fit for purpose. You won’t just be capturing requirements; you’ll be shaping outcomes.

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy leading by example and setting the standard for high-quality data analysis. You’ll mentor and coach other Data Business Analysts, contribute to a growing Data BA community of practice, and help continuously improve how data analysis is done across the organisation. Where required, you may also take on line management responsibilities, supporting development, performance, and career progression within the team.

On delivery, you’ll be hands-on and influential. You’ll lead current-state data analysis, map complex source data landscapes, and work with stakeholders to define scope and high-level data requirements. You’ll analyse source systems, data models, and end-to-end data flows, translating complex findings into clear, development ready user stories. Your strong SQL and data analysis skills will allow you to get under the skin of the data, understand relationships, and ensure downstream ingestion, transformation, and reporting are built on solid foundations.

What sets you apart is your ability to bridge technical and non-technical worlds. You’re an expert communicator, able to distil complex data concepts into clear narratives that resonate with a wide range of stakeholders. You’re comfortable working in Agile environments, managing backlogs, refining user stories, supporting UAT, and ensuring that what’s delivered genuinely meets business needs, while aligning with data architecture, governance, and quality principles.
