We’re excited to be able to share a unique leadership opportunity for a GOC-registered Optometrist to shape clinical excellence at scale
At Specsavers, clinical excellence isn’t just a priority it’s the foundation of everything we do. As the UK and Ireland’s leading provider of optical care, we have both the responsibility and the opportunity to lead the future of optometry.
We’re now looking for an Optometrist to join us as Head of Clinical Performance. This is a rare opportunity to step into a visible, high-impact leadership role where you can influence how clinical care is delivered across multiple divisions and help set the standard for the profession.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of the Clinical Performance team across your division, working closely with senior leaders, partners and store teams to make sure patients can access timely, high-quality care.
You’ll lead a team of Lead Clinical Performance Consultants who work directly and through their Clinical Performance teams, with stores to achieve their clinical strategies, through clinical efficiencies, increased clinical capabilities and best practice,. Together, the team plays a critical role in improving patient access, driving engagement and retention, and ensuring clinically we deliver the best outcomes for our customers and partners.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility on location, but regular UK wide travel is essential. You’ll spend time in stores, at events and with stakeholders across the UK and Ireland, building strong relationships and staying closely connected to the clinical community you support.
This role will give you the opportunity to define and deliver the clinical strategy for your territory and through your leadership drive clinical performance. You will utilise data to determine actionable insights and ensure that our Partners have the clinical support they need to deliver their plans.
You’ll be leading through others, offering clarity, coaching and direction to your team so they can deliver meaningful results across your division. Working in partnership with retail and clinical leadership teams, you’ll ensure change is not only implemented but embedded in a way that works for stores and clinicians.
Along the way, you’ll build trusted relationships across the business, influence at all levels and act as a visible, credible clinical leader. You’ll also play an important role in listening to the clinical community, making sure their feedback shapes how we continue to evolve.
To apply for this role, you’ll need to be a qualified Optometrist with a degree in Optometry and hold current GOC registration, as this is essential for the role. You’ll bring significant experience from a high-volume clinical environment, alongside a strong understanding of how to balance clinical excellence with commercial performance.
You’ll also need to demonstrate experience of leading and developing teams, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering through others. The ability to think strategically while staying connected to operational reality is key, as is the confidence to communicate clearly and present to a wide range of audiences.
If you’re motivated by improving patient care, developing others and shaping the future of optometry, this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level within a business that is truly committed to clinical excellence.
Apply today! We’d love to hear from you.
