The independent optometric clinic operated by Dr Ian Scholfield is looking for an optometrist to provide teleoptometry services to join their team to help communities in Courtenay access timely, quality eyecare.

 

Your teleoptometrist opportunity and practice    

 

Work from home. You’ll be joining an independent Optometry Partner and a team of passionate eyecare professionals remotely, to shape the future of community eye health as a teleoptometrist.

 

In addition to access to advanced clinical technology, training, and joining a growing network of over 250 eyecare professionals in Canada – you can be at the forefront of teleoptometry and new opportunities as a leader in the Canadian teleoptometry network.

 

 

  • Work from home with a suite of advanced technologies: You’ll be provided with all the technology you need to work from home with access to advanced diagnostic equipment including the NIDEK Tonoref 3, NIDEK automated lensometer, Topcon Maestro2, NIDEK intelligent refract RT-6100, and Zeiss HFA3 visual fields device. You will access all imaging and patient records remotely, so you can provide a comprehensive level of care to patients in real time. Remote records are accessed in a secure form ensuring the security of patient records as top priority.
  • Access to a fully integrated, in-person clinic: Enjoy a hybrid work schedule that allows you to practice remotely and provide in-person care to suit the needs of patients.
  • Full training and clinical support: Benefit from hands-on support to get set up with your technology and receive both in-person and virtual onboarding and ongoing training so you’re prepared to offer your best eyecare remotely.
  • Support from trained Clinical Technicians: You will work alongside trained onsite Clinical Technicians to deliver care to patients Each Clinical Technician receives extensive training and skill assessment and are signed-off by a qualified teleoptometrist and provides support throughout the eye examination.
  • Shape the future of teleoptometry: As a key member of the Specsavers’ Teleoptometry Team, you will have the opportunity to advance and evolve teleoptometry processes and our approach to delivering accessible care to all.  
  • Make a difference to community eye health: You’ll have the opportunity to drive better eye health outcomes by reaching communities and patients who need access to timely eyecare.
  • Opportunity to earn up to $900 per day: We want you to have the opportunity to focus on delivering high standards of care through teleoptometry, that’s why you’ll have the opportunity to earn $750 per day or 70% of billings when working from home and $900 per day or 70% of billings when practicing in clinic.

 

What we’re looking for 

You’re a registered optometrist residing in Canada and holding a valid license to practice in British Columbia, excited about advancing the future of optometry and eyecare. Beyond your experience, you have an ability to connect with patients, engage with clinical and in store support teams, and deliver exceptional patient care through a virtual platform. You’re adaptable and comfortable with learning and working with technology.

 

This role will require travel to one of following locations, Vancouver Island or the Okanagan in BC once per month for a few days at a time.
