Main Purpose of the Role

The commercial Accountant assists Site Controller preparing the analysis and reporting of site’s financial position in order to provide insight into business performance. Provide the monthly management accounts to aid business review. Involvement in cost analysis, variance analysis and KPI reporting to ensure high-quality financial data and actionable business insight. Travel to PRC and/or Philippines sites with the local Finance Team to understand the daily accounting transactions and also work with the operations team to obtain key information for performance measurement.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Accounting & Reporting

  • Responsible for full set accounting of JV entities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated financial reports
  • Review monthly accounts and investigate any significant variances and define appropriate action plan.
  • Analyse inventory costing to ensure completeness and accuracy of inventory valuation
  • Assist in monitoring transactions through Import Processing Contract
  • Assist in other regular reporting

 

Compliance & Controls

  • Assist in statutory audits and taxation filings
  • Assist in identifying and implementing control improvements

 

Operations & Business Partnering

  • Support for monthly payment run
  • Support in project work to ensure financial values are reported accurately and timely
  • Assist in preparation of budget / forecast reports
  • Travel to PRC and/or Philippines sites to understand processes and support local finance teams
  • Act as back-up of the Site Controller when required

 

Essential Skills Ability or Experience 

 

  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (written and spoken)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and software
  • Detail-minded and ability to work consistently
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Inquisitive in business and operational processes

 

Desirable Skills: 

 

  • Qualified ACCA/HKICPA is preferred
