Our store   

The Canterbury Specsavers store, located in the heart of the city centre, is easily accessible by multiple transport options, making it a convenient workplace for local and commuting colleagues. The store sits close to major bus routes ensuring straightforward public transport links. For those travelling by train, both stations are within walking distance. Parking is also readily available nearby, with several city-centre car parks such as Whitefriars Shopping Centre and Watling Street offering paid options within a short walk of the store

Our team   

The Canterbury team is a lively, friendly group of 43 colleagues who bring a wide mix of skills to the store, including experienced optometrists, dispensing opticians, optical assistants, and dedicated retail and audiology team members. Together, they deliver exceptional service in every part of the patient journey—from clinical expertise in the test rooms to knowledgeable dispensing on the shop floor. The team genuinely enjoy working—and socialising—together, organising two major events each year, including a summer celebration and a festive Christmas party. It’s a supportive, sociable environment where new team members feel welcomed and valued from day one.

What we’re looking for? 

Full training will be provided for all aspects of this role. 

Some of the responsibilities of the role will include: 

  • Provide clinical support for contact lens fittings
  • Deliver insertion and removal training and educate patients on lens care, hygiene, and safe use
  • Maintain accurate and compliant patient records and clinical notes
  • Handle patient enquiries by phone, email, and face‑to‑face
  • Manage the clinic diary, optimising appointment flow and reducing wait times
  • Coordinate patient movement through the clinic to ensure a smooth, positive experience
  • Oversee contact lens stock, including ordering, checking deliveries, managing trials, and processing patient orders
  • Monitor clinic performance indicators and raise any operational issues when needed
