What You’ll Do
The Marketing Manager (Awareness & Consideration), is responsible for driving growth in key metrics at the top of the marketing funnel, namely brand awareness and brand consideration. To do so, the role is focused primarily on building the Specsavers brand across Canada through omni-channel campaigns.
The scope of role is broad, yet defined, with ownership from start to finish on all brand building campaigns — from research and insights, through to campaign development and execution, as well as budget management. There is also an active role played in helping set future plans for the business through the annual planning process.
To deliver against business objectives, the role has the opportunity to work in close partnership with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including the Trade & Activation team, Creative Capability Hub (internal creative partners), external agency partners, and the clinical team. Strong collaboration across the business will be a key to success, ensuring that all plans and campaigns ladder back to the business' overarching objectives.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end Campaign Management
- Including channel briefing, cross-channel engagement, campaign management
- Shape, define and oversee ways of working across marketing relating to briefs and campaigns
- Contribute to briefing and development of creative against strategic briefs and campaigns
- Supporting in presenting campaign updates and workstreams to Marketing SLT team
- Creation of marketing briefs for smaller Awareness and Consideration campaigns, specifically Style and Contact Lenses
- Put together and present campaign overviews for each campaign, showing summary of strategy, channel activity and creative
- Chair and lead a weekly cross-functional campaign status/stand-up – possibly with the activation team – bringing teams together and holding them to account of progress of deliverables against the campaign
Annual Planning
- Support the Head of Awareness and Consideration CJT in the formation of the annual plan
- Pull together insights and channel inputs to help inform the plan – helping to shape strategy based on insights and data
- Support in launching and enforcing the plan
Media Buying and Agency Management
- Support Head of A&C CJT in the management of the media plan and structure of the media buy in relation to campaign activity
- Take responsibility for updating and communicating the Marketing Execution Plan to stakeholders across the organisation, updating changes to campaign structure and media buy
- Lead collaboration with PR/Social team to drive more holistic marketing campaigns, including oversight on the delivery of key projects and workstreams as part of the wider plan
Marketing Budgets
- Manage Media and process media related invoices into budget trackers, flagging discrepancy in actuals vs forecast
- Support Head of A&C in formalising marketing finance submissions at end of every month and end of FY. Head of A&C retains overall accountability
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years in a marketing role building multichannel campaign briefs across paid, owned, and earned media channels.
- Ability to connect customer messaging through the marketing funnel and across multiple touchpoints (video, digital, print, in-store, online, ecommerce, etc.)
- Experience with the creative development process, including partnering with creative agencies
- Ability to manage multiple activities with competing timelines and varying complexity
- Capability to manage large budgets ($10M+) and track spend accordingly.
- Ability to understand, interpret and apply brand guidelines
- Strong project management capabilities, and attention to detail
- Thrives in an agile marketing team and builds strong working relationships
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to delivering end-to-end campaigns within a global or national brand.
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 base salary, plus quarterly bonus, profit sharing, and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience
