Our store   

The Knowle Specsavers store is a busy and customer-focused optical and audiology practice located in the Broadwalk Shopping Centre, serving the local community with high-quality eye and hearing care services. Situated on Broadwalk in Knowle, the store benefits from excellent transport links, with regular bus services stopping nearby and Bristol Temple Meads and Bedminster railway stations within easy reach, making it accessible for those commuting from across Bristol and the surrounding areas. The store combines clinical excellence with outstanding customer service, offering a welcoming and supportive environment where colleagues work collaboratively to deliver tailored solutions, build lasting customer relationships, and maintain the highest standards of patient care and operational performance.

You'll have the opportunity to work from our Keynsham and Knowle stores, with the role being based at either location or across both sites.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.   

Who is this Apprenticeship for?  

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.  

  • You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result) 
  • Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK

  • Booking in eye tests 
  • Pre-screening patients 
  • Providing style advice 
  • Measuring frames 
  • Taking phone calls
